SWAMP's Teen Filmmaking Camp

The Southwest Alternate Media Project (SWAMP) presented the screening of two short movies, Friday night, August 8th, 2014, that were made by 17 teenagers split into two groups. The screening was held at the Houston Community College-Town & Country (now Spring Branch) campus in the Performance Art Center Theater. This was part of the SWAMP Filmmaking Camp for Teen called “Lights! Camera! Action! Moviemaking Camp". The week long camp was taught by moviemakers Mike Pena and Kay Ennis. The teens did a great job in making their first short movie. And, we were impressed by the results.

According to instructor Mike Pena every student had an opportunity to grab a camera and edit, thus giving the student a look at how editing can change flow of a movie.

It was good to see the Director of SWAMP Mary Lampe, Kristian Salinas, Carla and Greg Rudichuck, Mike Pena and Kay Ennis. (and of course all of the teens involved with this project). C47Houston News & Entertainment Magazine was there and took a couple of pictures.
