Producer Dan Eggleston is pleased to announce the Houston screening of "Z: A Zombie Musical" starting at 6PM at the Performing Arts Center of Houston Community College - Town & Country Square Campus (1060 W. Sam Houston Parkway, Houston Tx. 77043) Sunday, March 29, 2009

If you are the type of person that enjoys the horror film genre and Musical films, then you may want to mark your calendar for the Houston screening of  Z: A Zombie Musical”. Written and directed by Mr. John McLean of Austin, and produced by Dan Eggleston, this independent feature film shows the Living Undead in a completely different way. Zombies in this movie are heroes and they are productive, erudite, sexually liberated, philosophical and they can sing. The story involves a young woman named “Faith”, played by Hanna Hardin, a nun traveling with two fellow Caramel-Lite sisters, who gets turned into the Living Undead by a Zombie Dog while skinny-dipping in Lake Travis. “Faith” then sets off on a journey of discovery that takes her to an enclave of the Living Undead called “Zomburbia” and enters parts unknown as she seeks a way out of her newly Zombified condition.

Z: A Zombie Musical”, the first Zombie musical feature film was wrapped in September of 2006 and the film was “in the can” and ready for film festivals and screenings by early 2007. “Z” as it is called in the Austin area, was screened at the 2007 Providence Zombie Film Festival in Providence, Rhode Island, The 2007 WTO Film Festival in Os, Norway and last months 2008 Horrific Film Festival in San Antonio, Texas. “Z” features a wonderful collection of 14 original songs composed and recorded by various Austin musicians. An important inspiration for “Z: A Zombie Musical” is the 1996 film, “Alfred Packer: The Musical” (also known as “Cannibal: The Musical”), Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s first film.

The cast of “Z” includes eleven Houston-affiliated actors:  Ms. Kimberly Ensey (Miss Bikini USA 2001) plays Zombie RollerBabe No. 1, Ms. Marsela Orozco play a featured Zombie dancer, Ms. Junie Hoang plays a Zombie postwoman, Ms. Celeste Garcia, Ms. Vatsana Souvannavong, Mr. Travis Johnson, Ms. Gladys Otero and Mr. Baron Otillar are citizens of “Zomburbia”, Mr. Gary Chason (“Everything or Nothing” and  Dear Pillow”) plays a Zombie bathroom Dude, Ms. Amy Jordan plays a choreographer and ZBI Agent No. 1, and Ms. Maura Navarro plays a Zombie Hooker.

Also in the cast are leads Ms. Hanna Hardin “Faith” and Mr. Rob Faubion, “Dan, the Traveling Salesman”, Joe King Carrasco as the Honorary Mayor of Zomburbia, Dan Eggleston “The Philosopher”.

This 90-minute film was shot with a Hi-Def digital camera in and around the Austin area. You can view the trailers for “Z” at: www.azombiemusical.com.
