The Southwest Alternate
Media Project (SWAMP) Salon is proud to reschedule its salon and is
proud to be hosting the Astrodome Studios Campaign coming up Tuesday,
October 7, 2008 at the Rice University Media Center. IT'S FREE!
The Rice University Media
Center is located at the
corner of University Blvd and Stockton, entrance #8 on the Rice
University Campus.
The Astrodome Studios, the new name tied to
the future of Houston's and Texas' film and entertainment industry, is
a concept aimed at transforming the former stadium into a major sound
stage and production facility. How can this be accomplished and
how will it affect you and the industry? Come meet project
founders Elise Hendrix and Cynthia Neely as well as Lorrie
Foreman, one of the country's foremost structural engineers.
They believe the historic landmark can become
"Hollywood's Dome Away from Home." Lorrie is Senior VP of
Irvine Team, a partner of Astrodome Studios and a global design
and construction firm specializing in mammoth conversions such as the
$95 million transformation of the Compaq Center into Lakewood Church. Also
attending will be Astrodome Studios marketing director Bob DeLeon
(DeLeon Design Creative Communications) and future Dome
tenants who are ready to sign a lease when the deal is done! Learn
more about this campaign, the production and office space
that will be available, and what you can do to help make it all a reality.
This will make a grand production incentive for all of Texas.
The Mix, Mingle and
Munch will begin at 6:30PM. The presentation will be headed by Cynthia
Neely, Elise Hendrix and Lorrie Foreman at 7:30PM. This salon is FREE to the public
(donations appreciated for food and beverages)
