Coldbacon's Groupdraw Super Public challenges the distinction between art created in private for virtual spaces, and art created in public for physical spaces. In 2007, www.coldbacon.com launched an interactive JAVA-based "drawboard." Users grew addicted to the idea that people may or may not be watching them as they drew. GSP takes that feeling of simultaneous privacy and public performance to a higher level by projecting real-time drawing sessions to various locations, some more public than others. Guests of FACE TO FACE will have the opportunity to participate in a collaborative "groupdraw" during the event. Laptops available or BYOL! (bring your own laptop)

 

Southwest Alternate Media Project (SWAMP) is a 32-year-old nonprofit media arts organization. Our mission, to promote the creation and appreciation of film, video and new media of a multicultural community, brings artists and audiences together through our exhibition, education and information services. Your contributions will support our educational programs including the Emerging Filmmakers Fellowship, after-school filmmaking classes, and media literacy training for educators.
