The Southwest Alternate Media Project (SWAMP) presented the AFI's Directing  Workshop for Woman 2009 Informational Meeting, Wednesday night, December 17, 2008 at the SWAMP offices at 1519 W. Main, Houston, TX 77006

A full house of filmmakers was the scene at the SWAMP offices.  On hand to provide the information about the application process, as well as what to expect in participating in this workshop, was Houstonian AFI DWW member Ms. Li Lu (who is currently attending film school in California) and AFI DWW Alum Ms. Casey Kelly (director of the Texas feature film "Bracelet of Bordeaux".)
The AFI DWW only accepts 8 women who will write, make and edit their films. If you missed this meeting you missed out on some valuable information. Deadline to submit your written proposal is coming up January 5, 2009. Below are some of the pictures of this Women only event. Stats show that the number of women taking film classes has dropped. Women are encouraged to submit their proposals for consideration.
