The Museo Guadalupe Aztlan (The Guadalupe Aztlan Museum) will be hosting and screening the Documentary film "Barrio News Special: The Case of Joe Campos Torres" Friday night, March 13, 2009 starting at 7PM at the Museo Guadalupe Aztlan (708 Telephone Rd. Suite B, Houston 77023) The Museum is located next to Bohemios Restaurant and Pub.

Starting at 7pm there will be a screening of Houston Filmmaker and Director Edgar Bamaca's "Justice Without Law". Mr. Bamaca will be in attendance to answer questions and to give insight into his film and the filmmaking process. 

Starting at 8PM the Museo will present the feature film "Barrio News Special: The Case of Joe Campos Torres" written and edited by Mr. Carlos Calbillo who was the  Director of Barrio News KPRC-TV Channel 2 and is currently with the Southwest Alternate Media Project. Carlos will be in attendance to answer your questions and to give some insight into his creative process.

"Barrio News Special: The Case of Joe Campos Torres" explores the events and people surrounding the murder and mistreatment of Joe Campos Torres by several rogue officers of the Houston Police Department.

Mr. Calbillo's film was shot with a 16mm camera and edited and posted on 2" quad videotape and now it has been digitized.

Mr. Calbillo is a Writer, producer and director. He has done several documentary films including the 1977 film "El Bebop Kid" about the amazing career of Texas Musician Freddy Fender.

There will be a suggested donation of $5.00 to help in effort to preserve Mr. Calbillo's 40-year video archieve of the Chicano/Latino Community and to support the work of the Museo Guadalupe Aztlan.
