Houston area director and filmmaker Mr. Wayne Slaten is shooting a supernatural suspense thriller feature film called "Backroad" right here in Houston and surrounding areas. . Shot with a Pana- sonic AG- DVX100 with a Panasonic AG-LA7200 Anamorphic Lens Adapter, "Backroad"  is set in the small town of Backroad, Texas.

Produced by Fire Pig Productions and Moonlite Filmwerks, "Backroad" is about a man, Jasper Hawkins (played by Matthew Carter), who is raised with all privileges of wealth. He unknowingly hitches a ride with the Devil and is forced to face his darkest demons. Jasper discovers that evil can sometimes take a different route. 

Principle photography was completed in October and Post-production is scheduled to wrap up in early January 2009. Mr. Slaten plans to enter this film to numerous film festival throughout the United States including 15 Texas festivals.

"Backroad" is tentatively scheduled to be screened in Houston, February 18th, 2009.
