Credit Clothing was packed for The Houston
Film Commission's "Texas Filmmaker's Showcase" that featured
the short film works of Austin filmmaker Chris Ohlson. The Filmmaker's Showcase and
Mr. Albert Cervantes, Deputy Director of the
Houston Film Commission, hosted this special
screening of this Texas filmmaker Thursday night, September 4th. Mr. Ohlson was an Associate Producer for the
2008 feature film, "American Teen", which won the
"Directing Award" in the Documentary category at the 2008
Sundance Film Festival, was the 1st Assistant Director of the 2nd Unit
of the feature film "Baghead" which was also entered at the
festival and acted in
"Goliath" another Sundance entry.
Mr. Ohlson,
an Executive Producer, has produced numerous films projects
from 2000 to 2006. Chris is also a filmmaker and was excited to screen
seven of his favorite short experimental and art films that he wrote
and directed including the two minute short, "Trauma" 2006,
the six minute short, "Clock Paint Eyeball" 2006, the eight
minute short, "My Electric Bill"
2006, the six minute short "Cremains" 2005, the nine minute
short, "The Spin Cycle" 2004, the seven minute
short, "Expecting" 2007 , and the four minute
short, "I Love You" 2002. Mr.
Ohlson also directed but did not screen the 2000 short film, "11th & Congress" or
"The Meat Market" 2003.
In attendance
was filmmaker/Director and 48 Hour Film Project "Best Film in
Houston" winner Mr. Jason Clemons and party, filmmaker and
Casting Director Mr. Manuel Cantu and SWAMP's Program Coordinator, Ms.
Michelle Mower among others.
Mr. Chris Ohlson was
in attendance and after the screening made himself available for a
Question and Answer session to a room full of filmmakers and film
buffs.
C-47 Houston
was there and spoke to Mr. Ohlson for several minutes about his
thoughts about the film industry in Texas and his future projects. You

month..
The Texas
Filmmaker's Showcase is held the first Thursday of every month and
features our Texas filmmakers. The next showcase will be October 2nd
starting at 8ish.
Mr. Chris Ohlson is another "Made in Texas"
